The Catholic Foundation brought Catholic high school seniors together for the 10th Annual Senior Class Mass, hosted by Father Yermo on Thursday, January 27. Most Reverend Mark J. Seitz, D.D., Bishop of El Paso, was the main celebrant.

Fr. Cong Vo celebrated a special Mass at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini to commemorate Tết, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, which celebrates the arrival of the New Year.

The Catholic Foundation will offer a free virtual event on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 7-8pm featuring a presentation by Dr. Timothy O’Malley called “The Presence of Love: We Are Meant to be Present to the Lord and to One Another.”

Rev. Richard A. “Rick” Matty† will be honored posthumously at the 16th Annual Foundation of Faith Event: Building the Kingdom on September 22, 2022.

An anonymous donor created the Named Funds as a legacy for their children and grandchildren. The permanent endowed funds will provide support in perpetuity.

The Filipino Catholic community presented Bishop Mark Seitz with a $10,000 donation to support seminarian education during the 19th Annual Simbang Gabi, an annual Christmas celebration. Bishop Mark had a surprise of his own.

The 2021 Mass Attendance Count in the Diocese of El Paso was conducted during the weekends of October 16 & 17 and October 23 & 24 at all parishes, seminaries, and monasteries throughout the diocese. The count includes live-streamed and televised Masses.

Reverend Monsignor David Fierro passed away on Thanksgiving Day after battling COVID-19. He served the Diocese of El Paso for 45 years and will be greatly missed.

Close to 200 people attended the “We Need To Talk: Estate & End of Life Planning Seminar” at Queen of Peace and St. Raphael during the month of November. Experts in their fields gave their time to serve on the seminar panels. Pastors covered funerals and end-of-life decisions.
