Dr. Jose Manuel and Maureen de la Rosa will be honored as the recipients of the Dei Gratia Award during the 17th Annual Foundation of Faith Event: Here I Am, Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Starlight Event Center.

“Here I am Lord” reveals purpose when it’s heard. It is our response to God’s call and our way of saying “I will follow You, I am focused on Your will, and I am here to serve You.” This year, the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso’s guest speaker at the 17th Annual Foundation of Faith Event: Here I Am, Lord will be Fr. Chase Hilgenbrinck. An American soccer player who walked away from his professional career to serve God. He shares his story about trusting God’s will and what happens after God calls an athlete away from their sport.

The Diocesan Vocations Ministry values all vocations. God makes the universal call to a life of holiness and service to all the baptized: single, married, ordained, and consecrated. Extraordinarily, the Vocations Ministry provides resources and discernment opportunities that promote and cultivate vocations to ordained and consecrated life.

Father Ivan Alexander Montelongo, J.C.L., made a profession of faith and took the oath of fidelity in compliance with Canon 833, 5 of the Code of Canon Law before assuming the office of Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of El Paso; in addition to his recently assigned position as Diocesan Vocation Director.

The Sisters in Action Endowment Fund was created by Dr. Martha Casas in memory of her beloved Aunt, Sister. Antonia de Maria, SSHJP. Funds are to be used to enrich the lives of the Religious Sisters serving the Diocese of El Paso.
