Each October, with support from the Catholic Foundation, the Diocese of El Paso calls upon all parishes, monasteries, seminaries, and chapels that celebrate Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses to participate in a Mass Attendance Count. This important annual initiative captures valuable insights into attendance trends, parish demographics, and language needs, helping to deepen and expand our evangelizing mission within the Diocese of El Paso.

The Diocese of El Paso will conduct the annual Mass attendance count on the weekends of October 12-13 and 19-20 at your local parish, including seminaries, monasteries, UTEP campus ministry, and televised Masses. Make sure you and your family are part of this year’s Mass attendance count.

Loretto Community’s new leadership to take office September 15

More than 80 participants learned the meaning of a life of Stewardship at the 3rd annual Bilingual Diocesan Stewardship Conference held last month at St. Raphael’s Parish. Participants learned that God is the Giver of all: our families, personal time, jobs, resources, environment, human life, faith, and indeed everything, and as faithful stewards, we make a conscious commitment to “give” back to God, in gratitude and love, a portion of our time, talent and treasure.

The Bishop of El Paso, Bishop Mark Seitz, began the conference with an opening keynote, mentioning that when he thinks about Stewardship, he thinks about a way to translate abstract Gospel ideals into daily life. “I think about a way that a community can go beyond a minimalistic understanding of what it is to be a Catholic – a method to rekindle the fire of our discipleship.”

Over 700 Catholics in the Diocese gathered together to celebrate the works of Monsignor Arturo Banuelas and were inspired by Jim Wahlberg. Over $232,000 was raised for the endowments and works of our Catholic Diocese.

The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso proudly presents the 2024 Steward of the Year contest finalists. This year, the Catholic Foundation received 18 nominations from across the Diocese: Parishes, Catholic schools, and non-profits. All nominees represent an exemplary Stewardship way of life of PRAY, SERVE, and GIVE.
