As a separate legal entity from the Diocese of El Paso, the Catholic Foundation is not affected by the recent reorganization of the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso. We remain committed to our core purpose of raising funds necessary to sustain the parishes, schools, ministries, and charities that continue the teachings of Jesus Christ in our Diocese. All monies raised through the Catholic Foundation are only used for the parishes, programs, services, and ministries for which they are designated. No gifts are used to satisfy legal fees or settlement costs associated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso’s reorganization.

Now more than ever, we are counting on the community to help us fulfill that mission. Our hearts and prayers remain with the victims and their families.

Walking in Faith with St. Joseph, through the Progress Annual Ministry Appeal
Walking in Faith with St. Joseph, through the Progress Annual Ministry Appeal

As we continue through this sacred season of Lent, we look to St. Joseph as a powerful example of faith, humility, and quiet strength. St. Joseph did not seek recognition or praise. Instead, he responded to God’s call with trust, courage, and a generous heart.

In the Gospel of Matthew, we read: “Joseph did as the angel of the Lord commanded him.” (Matthew 1:24)

With simple obedience and deep faith, St. Joseph stepped forward to care for the Holy Family, trusting that God would provide what was needed along the way. His life reminds us that sometimes the most powerful acts of faith are the ones done quietly—through sacrifice, generosity, and service to others.

Today, we are invited to follow that same example through the Progress Annual Ministry Appeal.

Each gift made to the Annual Appeal helps sustain the ministries that serve our entire diocesan family—seminarian and diaconate formation, Catholic education, Catholic campus ministry, outreach to the poor, and programs that nurture faith in every stage of life. These ministries are not distant programs; they are lifelines that strengthen our community and help bring Christ to those who need Him most.

Like St. Joseph, we are called to trust God and to respond with generous hearts. Our participation in the Progress Annual Ministry Appeal is more than a contribution—it is an act of faith, a way of caring for the Church, and a way of helping ensure that the mission of Christ continues to flourish in our communities and for generations to come.

Every gift, no matter the size, becomes part of something greater than ourselves. Together, through our collective generosity, we become instruments of hope, faith, and love for thousands across our diocese.

As we reflect on the example of St. Joseph, let us ask ourselves how we are being called to respond.

Will you prayerfully consider making your gift today?

Your generosity makes it possible for these ministries to continue serving, forming, and inspiring our Catholic family for generations to come.

Together, let us continue to walk in faith and trust—just as St. Joseph did.
