As a separate legal entity from the Diocese of El Paso, the Catholic Foundation is not affected by the recent reorganization of the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso. We remain committed to our core purpose of raising funds necessary to sustain the parishes, schools, ministries, and charities that continue the teachings of Jesus Christ in our Diocese. All monies raised through the Catholic Foundation are only used for the parishes, programs, services, and ministries for which they are designated. No gifts are used to satisfy legal fees or settlement costs associated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso’s reorganization.

Now more than ever, we are counting on the community to help us fulfill that mission. Our hearts and prayers remain with the victims and their families.

Guests of hosts Nora & Ernie Herrera enjoyed an evening of delicious food and drink, live music, and an intimate meet and greet with Catholic award-winning singer songwriter, Matt Maher, all part of the 13th Annual Foundation of Faith Dinner: When We Sing, We Pray Twice.

It seems that giving together is the key to happiness because this dynamic and successful couple is always giving generously of their time, energy, prayer, and resources. This is not the first time these young philanthropists have hosted a Foundation event—they served as sponsors of the Alamo Movie Night for Seminarians in 2018 and put on an elegant papal fundraising dinner when Pope Francis visited Juárez, Mexico in 2016—but it was certainly one of the most special nights the Foundation has seen.

Nora and Ernie Herrera, founders and owners of The Herrera Group, hosted a beautiful evening on Wednesday, September 18 at their offices located in the historic Trost home built in 1910 and located across from St. Patrick Cathedral.

VIP’s, sponsors contributing $2,500 and up to the 13th Annual Foundation of Faith Dinner, and the 5th Annual Dei Gratia Award recipient, Rosie Daw and her family, were treated like royalty. They relaxed on the patio, enjoying lively conversation with French cuisine and cocktails, they gathered in the main entrance under chandeliers, got the grand tour, and mingled and took photos with Matt Maher and Most Reverend Mark J. Seitz, Bishop of El Paso. It was a night everyone will remember for many years to come.
