As a separate legal entity from the Diocese of El Paso, the Catholic Foundation is not affected by the recent reorganization of the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso. We remain committed to our core purpose of raising funds necessary to sustain the parishes, schools, ministries, and charities that continue the teachings of Jesus Christ in our Diocese. All monies raised through the Catholic Foundation are only used for the parishes, programs, services, and ministries for which they are designated. No gifts are used to satisfy legal fees or settlement costs associated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso’s reorganization.

Now more than ever, we are counting on the community to help us fulfill that mission. Our hearts and prayers remain with the victims and their families.

Thank you for another great year! We could not do it without you.

We have visited parishes and missions throughout the 10 counties of our diocese and if there is one thing that everyone has in common, it’s generosity. You welcome us into your churches and lives, you give of your time and resources and the love you have for your home parish and local priests, is evident. Your local church is where your heart is and your giving can be too. When you give to your parish endowment fund and Progress, the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, that’s exactly where your gifts will make an impact: your local church.

Because your generosity has a direct impact on our success, we invite you to give whatever you can. We’re fully aware that every dollar given represents a step of faith and sacrifice. Because of this, we assure you that we are good stewards of God’s gifts while pursuing the mission of the Foundation with passion.

The Catholic Legacy Fund, the Foundation’s endowment program, has a value of $15.4 million and our short-term goal is to grow that to $25 million to provide $1 million annually in distributions. The Foundation raises more than $2 million each year through the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, and $1 million annually from outside grants. The Foundation manages 90 separate endowment funds to provide continual resources for years to come. In 2018, distributions from endowed funds totaling $524,807 went to charities, ministries, parishes and schools throughout the Diocese of El Paso. Your donation through your parish to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal strengthens our diocese and our ability to continue to serve Christ.
