As a separate legal entity from the Diocese of El Paso, the Catholic Foundation is not affected by the recent reorganization of the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso. We remain committed to our core purpose of raising funds necessary to sustain the parishes, schools, ministries, and charities that continue the teachings of Jesus Christ in our Diocese. All monies raised through the Catholic Foundation are only used for the parishes, programs, services, and ministries for which they are designated. No gifts are used to satisfy legal fees or settlement costs associated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso’s reorganization.

Now more than ever, we are counting on the community to help us fulfill that mission. Our hearts and prayers remain with the victims and their families.

Happy New Year! Six Million Reasons to Celebrate!!
Happy New Year! Six Million Reasons to Celebrate!!

We started the year like any other. We quickly had to pivot and reimagine how we do things. In the blink of an eye, the year is done and we have you—your support, prayers, and faith—to thank for making it an extraordinary year. Over $6 million was raised by the Catholic Foundation through the Progress Catholic Ministry Appeal, the Catholic Legacy Fund for permanent endowed funds and donor directed distributions, bequests, outside grants, the 14th Annual Foundation of Faith Event, and El Paso Giving Day. THANK YOU!

In 2020, the Foundation surpassed the Progress Catholic Ministry Appeal goal with a total of $1,949,041 in contributions from over 7,000 donors, raised $1,114,806 for the Catholic Legacy Fund endowment and donor directed distributions throughout the Diocese, $1,915,000 in bequests for Cathedral High School and the Seminarian Education Endowment Fund, and $966,727 in outside grants. In addition, the 14th Annual Foundation of Faith Event, our first virtual event ever, brought in $106,585, and the community gave $10,225 on El Paso Giving Day in support of the Permanent Diaconate Program.

The Foundation was established as a 501(c)3 Texas nonprofit corporation in 2001 by a group of Catholics committed to preserving the future. It began with seed money and has grown to be a philanthropic leader in the community.

Our heart is full. Thank you for being a part of our Catholic Foundation Family in 2020. Get ready to celebrate 20 years in 2021!
