As a separate legal entity from the Diocese of El Paso, the Catholic Foundation is not affected by the recent reorganization of the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso. We remain committed to our core purpose of raising funds necessary to sustain the parishes, schools, ministries, and charities that continue the teachings of Jesus Christ in our Diocese. All monies raised through the Catholic Foundation are only used for the parishes, programs, services, and ministries for which they are designated. No gifts are used to satisfy legal fees or settlement costs associated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso’s reorganization.

Now more than ever, we are counting on the community to help us fulfill that mission. Our hearts and prayers remain with the victims and their families.

Bishop's Scholarship Fund Surpasses $1 Million
Bishop's Scholarship Fund Surpasses $1 Million

The Bishop’s Scholarship Fund, a permanent endowed fund for scholarships, surpassed the $1 million mark! A fund of this size will provide an annual distribution of $40,000.

Bishop’s Scholarships are available for a select number of students who meet the academic and extracurricular requirements of the scholarship application, are recommended by their pastor/principal, are at-risk and would benefit from a Catholic education, and would not otherwise be able to attend Catholic school.

Sixty-five students received the Bishop’s Scholarship for the 2021-2022 school year.

The Catholic Foundation manages 30 endowed funds for Catholic education to ensure that the 9 Catholic campuses in the Diocese of El Paso remain strong and viable for years to come. The interest from the funds will provide for the long-term needs of our schools and help decrease student costs.

We know that education impacts lives, scholarship opportunities for Catholic schools are transforming lives.
